For experienced candidates, this role comes with an exciting opportunity – the chance to work with our secondary SCITT programme and lead the design and delivery of the RE subject course at Barr Beacon SCITT.

About You:  

Your skills will include: 

  • Being a good/outstanding classroom practitioner with a good understanding of how children learn; 
  • Having up to date subject and pedagogical knowledge.     
  • Possessing a passion to make a difference in pupils’ lives and showing a commitment to school improvement. 

The Subject Course Leader role:

  • supports the development and delivery of subject training sessions in RE
  • ensures that our trainees experience an up-to-date and comprehensive subject specific pedagogy and knowledge training package
  • support the quality assurance processes of our SCITT programme
  • support our trainees in achieving excellent outcomes and becoming great, inspirational specialist teachers
  • comes with a TLR 2C = £3,213 per annum paid by Barr Beacon SCITT
  • TLR is a 12-month contract based on the successful recruitment of trainees to the RE course. We have trainees signed up to train to teach in RE in 2024/25 and the opportunity to continue in the role exists if trainees are recruited to the RE course for future academic years.
