I am genuinely proud to be part of the team.

To say our school shifted gear since joining the trust would be something of an understatement. The rapid implementation of Matrix policies and procedures has had a considerable impact at every level; the most important being the growing calmness and positivity amongst pupils, especially at social times.

The team responsible for this redirection can only be described as some of the most thorough, driven and supportive professionals I have had the pleasure to work with.

Matrix Trust do not settle for “okay” and I am genuinely proud to be part of a team that strives not only to achieve the best for my school, but the best in me.

Mr Gallagher, Wednesfield Academy

Learning Support Assistant

‘Having worked for Matrix Academy Trust since day one, I have watched it grow in terms of schools, colleagues and students. Staff give their all in our joint venture to shape the next generation. Every decision that is made has the students’ best interests at heart. We are able to work collaboratively, across the schools in the Trust, allowing everyone to be the best that they can be through mutual support and opportunities for progression.’

Miss Osborne

Head of Sixth Form

‘I have worked within the trust for almost 10 years, across two schools, and in several positions. At all times I have felt fully supported in all aspects of my work life. Individually I have worked collaboratively with many colleagues in other schools to drive forward both subject and whole-school standards.

As a school we have greatly benefitted from the expertise of leaders from across the trust, who have assisted school in becoming the genuinely ‘good’ school it is now.’

Mr Delaney

Assistant Headteacher

‘Since joining the Trust in January 2023, there has been a distinct shift in drive and determination. Decisions are made in a timely fashion that benefit both the students, the staff and the wider school community. I feel that if I need support in either making a decision that it gets done quickly and with very little fuss. It feels as if there are far fewer ‘hoops’ for us all to jump through to make things happen.

The behaviour management strategies that are being put in place and like a breath of fresh air.’

Since visiting on the day of interview, I knew this was a school and trust I wanted to work for. I joined the Matrix Academy Trust in 2017 as an English teacher. In the years that followed I have been afforded many opportunities to develop my practice, both as a classroom practitioner and in terms of my own professional development. The individuals I have worked with are truly inspirational; the level of excellence and professionalism is second to none. The vision of the school has always resonated with me, and I am proud to have been a part of the trust in the fulfilment of its vision and its drive for the future. I am grateful for all the opportunities I have been presented with, and look forward to the next stage of excellence in our future.

I joined Matrix in January 2023 having worked in a school as part of another trust for 8 years. In March I successfully moved into a new role within the central team. Immediately I was made to feel welcome within the IT team and by Central staff.

Before Matrix I never felt part of a team that valued collaboration and teamwork; now I’m proud to be part of a team where every opinion is heard, and all ideas are welcome.’

Mrs DiPaolo

EAL Co-Ordinator

Always putting pupils first.

I have had the privilege of being part of the Matrix Academy Trust since 2015. Before the Trust took over, I was on the verge of leaving the teaching profession. But with the support and guidance of outstanding school leaders, I was encouraged to continue my journey.

Matrix Academy Trust always puts the pupils first; they invest in the young people in their care, and, as such, provide the very best for all. I am grateful for all of the opportunities that have been provided to me, and for the belief that they have shown in myself and my colleagues. I look forward to continuing my journey and witnessing that of others within the Trust.

Mr Bradley

‘Having worked within Matrix since I was an ECT, I have always felt highly supported and that my voice is not only listened to, but that feedback is valued and utilised to initiate change. Over the past four years, I have witnessed dedicated commitment from leaders to consistently improve workload for the betterment of staff wellbeing, which fosters a positive sense of community where staff feel exceptionally supported.

Since joining Matrix Academy Trust, I have always felt encouraged and inspired to continue learning by conversing with approachable and welcoming colleagues who can provide advice on the many professional development opportunities offered throughout the trust. The trust fosters an environment where I feel genuinely supported by my colleagues and continually inspired to continue to grow.’

Miss Sandilands

‘My journey with Matrix Academy Trust started with Barr Beacon SCITT, where I spent a year gaining my QTS and PGCE. Since then, I haven’t looked back! From day one, it was clear I had made the right choice – the support that was on offer was second to none. Through my training within Matrix Academy Trust, I was able to secure employment within the trust, at Barr Beacon School.

This is a trust that ‘does what it says on the tin’ – Education without Exception. I have been given so many opportunities that have helped me to develop my confidence, teaching practice, and ultimately, my career. It is so rewarding to work with so many dedicated colleagues that support you every step of the way – all working towards providing the very best for our young people. If you want to work for a trust where you know you can make a real difference, every single day, this is the place for you.’

I am excited to continue contributing to the amazing work we do.

‘I have had the privilege of working in the trust for over 10 years. I started as a learning support assistant (LSA) and now I’m an assistant headteacher. In this time, I’ve grown both personally and professionally.

Currently, I am proud to serve as an assistant headteacher at my current school. This position has given me the opportunity to have a broader impact on the school community and contribute to its overall development. One of the things I truly appreciate about working for the trust is the amazing colleagues I have had the pleasure of working with. I have met some exceptional individuals who are dedicated to providing the best education to our students. Their passion and commitment inspire me to work tirelessly and continuously strive for excellence.

The trust itself offers numerous benefits, creating a positive and supportive working environment. From professional development opportunities to a strong sense of community, the trust truly values its staff. I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences I have had while working for the trust. It has been a fulfilling journey, and I am excited to continue contributing to the amazing work we do in educating our students without exception.’
